These wave patterns show how abnormal breathing is recorded in patients with sleep apnea or other breathing disorders experienced while asleep.

This diagram shows different wave-shaped patterns of breathing identified in those who have different variations of sleep-breathing disorders. The last one, Cheyne-Stokes breathing, is most common among those with central sleep apnea.
